Custom Sound Recording and Microphone Receivers Foam Case Insert
Safeguarding sensitive equipment is our specialty. When you need to protect your sound and recording devices while on the road, you can trust that the FUSH Cases team will provide you with the portable cases and foam inserts you need to safely transport your items – whether by car, truck, plane or train. Our experienced technicians will assist you in selecting the right case to house your equipment, then in-house foam fabricators will create a customized insert to cradle and cushion your microphones, receivers, cables, routers and other accessories as you travel from job to job.
Award-winning sound designer and audio mixer Paul Bevan relied on us to create a foam case insert to secure his microphones and routers as he traversed the globe. And recently, he recommended the FUSH Cases team to a colleague who was looking for a better way to move his mobile sound engineering and recording equipment. Nothing makes us happier than a happy customer! Below is an overview of the project.
Case Components
The client was seeking a case to hold:
- 2 wireless microphone receivers pre-mounted in a custom wooden rack system
- Cables
- Assorted equipment
Compact Storage that Cushions
After analyzing the components, we determined that a Pelican iM2975 Storm Travel Case was the perfect choice for this project. It is small enough to be easily moved, yet strong enough to withstand rugged transport. The case’s powerful hinges, o-ring seal and two padlockable hasps make it an ideal option for this project. And its deep interior provides ample space to safely house the equipment.
We designed a double layer foam insert for the body of the case, as well as an insert for the lid. Utilizing the latest computers programs and state-of-the-art water jet machines, we were able to craft an insert from 2.2 polyethylene foam that cushioned all components. For added protection, we incorporated Velcro straps to secure two, mobile paddle antennas in the lid to prevent them from falling out of their cavities. We created a total of four cases.
