Whether a customer wants us to assist them in selecting the right case for their needs or already has a case they wish to customize, we will fabricate a foam insert that securely and safely houses the components. We were recently contacted with a request for a custom fit foam insert for a case supplied by the customer. This customer was already familiar with our capabilities working with extremely sensitive equipment, as this is the fourth custom insert design they have retained us to fabricate for their products. So they trusted us to produce an insert that would protect delicate components as they traveled from job site to job site – as well as provide for easy access and re-packing when the job was complete.

This case is for housing and transporting parts for testing used during the installation and repair of Polyethylene Pipe in the natural gas distribution industry.

With such sensitive components, the FUSH Cases foam fabricators took great care with regard to measurements and layout. A secure fit was imperative to protect each individual part. The design also took quick and easy access into account.

The components were of varying sizes and shapes. We designed cavities to fit each component. To accommodate some of the parts that extended into the lid area, we secured convoluted (egg crate) foam to the lid. To take advantage of the lid space, the design also incorporated a rectangular cavity with a block of 1.7 black polyethylene HRC foam to create a stable and protective space to store a sensitive valve pipe assembly using two Velcro One Wrap Straps.

It is important that the most optimal foam is used for each project based on the components and customer needs. For this project we selected 1.7 black polyethylene HRC foam, which offers superior cushioning protection, vibration dampening and shock absorption. It is also non-abrasive, dust-free, and chemical and water resistant.
