Custom Foam Insert for Case Carrying Radio Frequency Equipment
Not all foam lined cases offer the same level of protection. If you want to optimally protect your case components, a custom designed insert is your best option. By working directly with experienced foam fabricators, like those at FUSH Cases, you can be assured that you will have a foam insert that securely fits and cushions your specific components. Even the most sensitive, delicate and intricate of items can be safely transported and stored if the proper care was taken to create a foam insert designed and cut specifically for those items. And that is just what we recently did for the nation’s leading supplier of radio frequency services, solutions and hardware.
Crafting a Foam Case Insert for Sensitive Audio Hardware
Our client was looking to safely ship and transport its popular domed antennas, which are used for small to large arena events throughout the country. Because of where and how they are used, these antennas must be regularly transported from location to location. So, a protective case interior for this item is a must.
The client had already purchased cases which would fit the antennas, then reached out to us to design an insert that would safeguard them during shipping to the client, and then for the client’s use after. Our team of foam fabricators assessed the dimensions of the antenna and the case, then used our state-of-the-art design software to create an insert that would perfectly fit both.
Sometimes the Simplest Solution is the Best
In this case, a simple design feature offered adequate protection. We created a circular cavity of the appropriate depth for the antenna, as well as accounted for additional room in the cavity to store the antenna’s necessary power cords and accessory cables. Considering the type of component, we utilized 1.7 Black Polyethylene HRC foam for the base of the case. We also added convoluted 1.5 pound polyurethane foam in the lid, per the client’s request. All of the foam was cut with a sophisticated water jet cutting machine to ensure a clean cut.
A 20 Insert Run with Fast Turnaround
This project involved not one, but 20 identical inserts, which was easy to fulfill. As a full-service foam fabricating company, we had the necessary materials on-hand and volume of cutting machines to quickly produce those 20 units.
